Board of Assessment Appeals The BoAA has concluded its business for March and voted on March 14 to cancel the Saturday, March 15 and Friday, March 21 regularly scheduled meetings. The meeting scheduled for Motor Vehicles on September 12, 2025 at 7:30PM remains.
The Swap Shed will reopen on Saturday, March 29, 2024. Please note: ACCEPTABLE: Household items Yard items Toys Tools Sports Equipment Clean, working and in good condition with all parts. Items in the Swap Shop carry no guarantee and will be taken at one’s own risk. Union was the last town to be settled east of the Connecticut River, largely because of its rough terrain and poor soil. In 1633, John Oldham, an adventurer from Massachusetts, obtained specimens of black lead or graphite from the Indians. During the Revolutionary War Governor Trumbull tapped this valuable resource for use at cannon foundries. On July 1, 1720 the General Assembly sold 12,500 acres to 12 proprietors for 307 pounds, comprising the area that is now Union.
