State Energy Assistance Available

Operation Fuel's energy assistance program is now accepting applications for the winter/spring 2024 season. Eligible CT residents can apply for energy assistance (gas, electric, oil, or other deliverable fuel) and may receive a one-time grant of up to $500.00 to help with energy bills. Application Period for 2023-2024 Winter Season of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program Begins on September 1

Energy Assistance- Income eligible households at risk of going without heat during the winter may apply for Connecticut Energy Assistance or the Contingency Heating Assistance Program. Programs provide deliverable fuel and also replace inoperable heating systems or repair, clean, tune and test systems. If you qualify or know of a Union resident who may qualify for energy assistance, please contact the Access Agency directly at 860-450-7400 or go to www.ct.gov/staywarm There is also a Town of Union General Assistance Fund available for any residents facing hardship or in need of assistance.
