The Town of Union is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Assessor. This is a part-time, salaried position that provides technical and administrative assistance to the Assessor and assumes responsibility for the office during the public open hours. The Town of Union CT Board of Assessment Appeals will meet, by appointment only, on March 7, 2025, March 14, 2025, and March 21, 2025 at 7:30PM and March 15, 2025 at 10:00AM, at the Union Town Hall to discuss and act upon any written appeals received. Those wishing to appeal their real estate, motor vehicle or personal property tax assessments must submit a completed appeal application to the Assessor’s Office no later than February 20, 2025. Come hear Union resident and Land Steward for Norcross Wildlife Sanctuary, Ethan Smith, discuss our special corner of New England. Ethan has worked at Norcross for the past 15 years. He is responsible for maintaining, and has intimate knowledge of the sanctuaries 8000+ acres! Energy Assistance- Income eligible households at risk of going without heat during the winter may apply for Connecticut Energy Assistance or the Contingency Heating Assistance Program. Programs provide deliverable fuel and also replace inoperable heating systems or repair, clean, tune and test systems.
