 Selectmen’s Meeting                                    September 16, 2019                            Union, Connecticut

 

 

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the September 3, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Persons to be Heard:  None

                       

Correspondence:  DEEP letter regarding work to be done on Dam #4. First Selectman contacted DEEP regarding clean up at the Dam on Old Brown Road, as well.

 

New Business:

 

The Assistant Assessor will be on maternity leave at the beginning of October.

 

State Rep. Dubitsky will be visiting EastConn on September 26 to discuss the sharing of services between Towns and Schools. First Selectman Eaton plans to attend.

 

A question regarding a July 2019 invoice for road work was brought up by the Auditors for 2019 YE audit. The Board briefly discussed this and will wait to hear the final outcome.

 

Lt. Governor Bysiewicz will be honoring Town of Union Vietnam Era Veterans at a Ceremony to be held at the Town Hall on March 2, 2020.

 

First Selectman Eaton reported on the September 11 Board of Ed. meeting, which he attended. Superintendent Reardon will be retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:18 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.
