Selectmen’s Meeting                           July 15, 2019                         Union, Connecticut

 

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck

 

Minutes from the July 1, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Heck made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.

 

Persons to be Heard: Tom Schenking of EastConn, IT Services, has been rescheduled to the August 5 meeting.

 

Correspondence:

 

  • DRVN Road Salt Company 2019-2020 contract proposal

 

New Business:

 

Selectman Heck made a motion to appoint Joshua Lambert as Constable for the Town of Union, effective immediately until end of term, July 1, 2021. Motion seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.

 

First Selectman Eaton met with NECCOG Regional Services Director, Hoween Flexer, regarding Veterans’ Services and Social Services for Town of Union residents. The Town Website will post direct contact information for these services.

 

First Selectman Eaton also met with CCM Training and Events Coordinator, Bru Hickey, regarding Municipal IT Services and the CCM Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. The Selectman’s Office will schedule an informational meeting with the IT Services Representative, and follow up regarding the Drug and Alcohol Testing Program and GrantFinder Program.

 

The Board reviewed and discussed the FY end for 2018-2019.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:00 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by First Selectman Eaton.  Vote was unanimous.
