Selectmen’s Meeting                                July 6, 2020                      Union, Connecticut



 First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda


Minutes from the June 15, 2020 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.


Correspondence:  Letter from the Union Historical Society, thanking the Board of Selectmen

            for the new windows, installed this year, provided through the LoCIP Grant.

                               Troop C Victim witness statement filed for theft of catalytic converter stolen

            from the Elder Bus parked behind the Town Garage.


New Business:               


Town Employee Resignations were received with regret:

                        Howard Bliss from the Transfer Station

                        Joshua Lambert from Maintenance & Grounds


First Selectman Eaton will follow up with inquiries on these jobs, with plans to hire two employees.


The reopening of town offices is going well. The Town Hall air system actuators are installed. Airflow is now maximized.


The Board discussed issues at Bigelow Hollow State Park with excessive parking on Route 171. First Selectman Eaton is following up with DEEP and State Police for potential resolution.


Motion to adjourn at 8:25 p.m. by First Selectman Eaton; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
