DESCRIPTION:UNION250\nIn 2026\, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the country.  \nEveryone can be a part of the CT250 TOWN OF UNION celebration and events!\nWe will be meeting the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Community Room.\nMONDAY\, June 15 at 6:00 PM – Planning Meeting in the Community Room.\nPLEASE JOIN US!\nThere will be a few fundraisers scheduled to help cover expenses for our town events. The Town has also established an account for accepting donations. If you would like to help sponsor these events for 2026\, checks payable to Union250 can be mailed or dropped off at the Selectman’s Office.\nUPCOMING FUNDRAISERS: \nBasket Raffle Basket Raffle  DRAWING AT MEMORIAL DAY\nGlass Medallion Keepsake Ornament designed for Union’s America250 Commemoration \n\nUPCOMING EVENTS:\nMAY 30\, Saturday\, 11:00 AM\nSons of the American Revolution will present a Ceremony\nat the Union Town Hall to dedicate the Liberty Tree\nplanted in honor of the Revolutionary War Heroes\n\nJULY 4\, 9:00 AM at Center Cemetery\nReading of the Declaration of Independence\nRefreshments will be available\nA copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence will be available for all attending\n  \nJULY 16\, 6:30 PM at the Town Hall Community Room\nRevolutionary War Storyteller\, Carolyn Stearns\nBring the family to this educational and entertaining event!\n  \nAugust 15\, Old Home Day Commemorating America250!\nMuch more information to come regarding the events through the entire day and evening!\nMore information to come on the following:  \nSelf Guided Historic Home Tour ~ see houses that were standing in Union at the time of the Revolution War  \nThe State of Connecticut Traveling Exhibit commemorating America250 will be coming to Union \nAUGUST 15 Old Home Day is Union’s AMERICA250 Big Event!
