Selectmen's Meeting                       August 1, 2016                    Union, Connecticut


First Selectman Goodhall called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Attending:  Selectmen - Albert L. Goodhall, Jr., Joseph Kratochvil, David Heck; David Eaton, Public Works Director; Rose-Marie Pellerin, Library Board of Directors

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Heck moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Kratochvil. Vote was unanimous.

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Kratochvil made the motion to pay the bills as presented; motion was seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.

The lighting options for the Library LoCIP renovation project were discussed. Rose-Marie Pellerin will contact the designer from Connecticut Lighting Centers regarding the quote for ceiling lights on the main floor of the building. The lights will be ordered this week, to be installed the week of August 8, when the lift is rented for painting and light installation.

On July 25, First Selectman Goodhall attended a Crumbling Foundations meeting in Hartford, hosted by CRCOG (Capitol Region Council of Governments). A task force is being established. First Selectman Goodhall will keep the Board apprised of developments.

Sexton Jeffrey Anthony has applied for a Neglected Cemeteries Grant with the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management.

New members are needed for the Old Home Day Committee for 2017.

Motion to adjourn at 8:28 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Kratochvil.   Votewas unanimous.
