Selectmen’s Meeting                               January 22, 2019                          Union, Connecticut



First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda


Minutes from the January 7, 2019 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.


Correspondence:  Northeast District Department of Health Town per capita assessment for Fiscal Year 2019-2020, based on a population estimate of 839 persons.


The Selectmen’s Proposed 2019-2020 Budget was submitted to the Board of Finance, with one change to the Telephone Expense Line Item, 1110-212, increased to $7,000, based on current 2018-2019 expenses.


The Education Budget Proposal was discussed.


The Board discussed possible LoCIP projects for 2019.


Residents have been enjoying the Town skating rink located at the basketball court at Union School.


The Board is reviewing State Statutes regarding Animal Control policies and will begin development of the policy at the February 4 meeting.


Motion to adjourn at 8:47 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.
