Selectmen’s Meeting                     November 7, 2016               Union, Connecticut



First Selectman Goodhall called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – Albert L. Goodhall, Jr., David Heck; Joseph Kratochvil; David Eaton, Public Works Director


Minutes from the last meeting were read. Selectman Heck moved to accept the minutes as read; seconded by First Selectman Goodhall. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Kratochvil made the motion to pay the bills as presented; motion was seconded by Selectman Heck.  Vote was unanimous.


A change to the distribution process for 2017 Transfer Station permits was discussed. Residents will go to the Selectman’s Office during weekday hours or Wednesday evenings to get their permits, or contact the office directly to request a permit be mailed.


There was an update on the lighting for the Library LoCIP Project. The initial lighting for the Library stacks has been installed.


An Emergency Planning and Preparedness Initiative Statewide Exercise was held on November 2, 2016. The Selectmen expressed their appreciation to Tammy Cross and Donna Jellen for their work in running the Drill for the Fire Department and Town Emergency Services.


First Selectman Goodhall gave an update on the CRCOG Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting he attended on Thursday, November 3, in Hartford. The Committee is working on the development of a model for property assessments with regard to crumbling foundations.

Motion to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Kratochvil.   Vote was unanimous.
