Selectmen’s Meeting                           February 16, 2021                      Union, Connecticut

First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda, David Heck

Persons to be Heard:  None

Minutes from the February 1, 2021 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

Correspondence:  Letter from The Last Green Valley

                                    Email from American Rescue Plan Estimated CT-2 Allocations regarding grant money

New Business:   

The Board discussed the projected State budget grant money.

The Union Conservation & Safety Association for Mashapaug Lake has applied for a Grant for Control of Aquatic Invasive Species through DEEP. The expenses would provide for a study of the lake and resolve for treatment.

The Northeast District Department of Health will hold a Covid-19 Vaccination clinic on Thursday, February 18, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Town Hall. The date for the second doses is March 18.

Old Business: 

The Board reviewed the 2021-2022 Proposed Budget, including the refinance of the school building loan.

The Town Assessor has been in communication with Yale University regarding Union property taxes for Yale forest.

Motion to adjourn at 8:45 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
