Selectmen’s Special Meeting February 3, 2021 Union, Connecticut
First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Attending: Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda, David Heck
Persons to be Heard: None
Minutes from the January 19, 2021 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
Bills were presented for review. Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous
Correspondence: Anonymous letter was discussed.
Email regarding repairs needed at Library, possible LoCIP project
Acts proposed by State of CT
Email for school funds $32,373 additional funding from State for COVID expenses
New Business: Regarding the Town Covid-19 Quarantine policy, traveling employees will abide by State CDC guidelines.
Vaccine issues were discussed.
Old Business:
First Selectman Eaton gave an update on the school USDA loan.
The Board reviewed the Jewett City Savings Bank loan proposal. The 15-year amortization schedule saves over $261,000 over the course of the loan.
Selectman Heck made a motion to enter into a contract with the Jewett City Savings Bank to have them underwrite the proposed loan for the Union School. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
Team Viewer Account was researched. The monthly fee for one account is $49.00. For 2-15 accounts, the cost is $99.00. The Board will defer purchase at this time.
Motion to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
