Selectmen’s Meeting                                      November 16, 2020                      Union, Connecticut



 First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m.


Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, Mary Huda, David Heck via Zoom


Persons to be Heard:  None


Minutes from the November 2, 2020 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.


Bills were presented for review.  First Selectman Eaton made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda.  2 Votes yes; 1 abstention. Motion carried.


Correspondence:  Quote from Banner Water to replace the pump, line, etc. for $2,658.75. The Board discussed                                                      funding options.


New Business:       


Selectman Huda made a motion to make the following appointments to the Union Free Public Library Board of Directors:  Erin Grabel to fill the vacancy left by Rose Novak, effective immediately, until end of term, June 30, 2021; and Liz Fournier to fill the vacancy left by Joshua Lambert, effectively immediately, until May 3, 2021.  Motion was seconded by First Selectman Eaton. Vote was unanimous.


The State of Connecticut STEAP grant was awarded in the amount of $128,205 for Transfer Station upgrades.


Governor Lamont’s Executive Orders have been extended until February 9, 2021.


There will be a CIRMA meeting this week regarding Town insurance for 2021-2022.


Old Business: 


2021-2022 Budget review and discussion.  



Motion to adjourn at 8:05 p.m. by First Selectman Eaton; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
