Selectmen’s Meeting August 3, 2020 Union, Connecticut
First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m.
Attending: Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda
Minutes from the July 20, 2020 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as presented; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
Bills were presented for review. Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
Following discussion regarding the STEAP Grant, Selectman Huda made a motion to approve the following resolution:
“RESOLVED, that First Selectman David D. Eaton be, and hereby is, authorized to accept on behalf of the Town of Union, a 2020 Connecticut STEAP Grant in the amount of $128,205.00 for Transfer Station Upgrades; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that First Selectman Eaton is hereby authorized to enter into and execute any and all agreements, contracts and documents necessary to obtain said 2020 STEAP Grant with the State of Connecticut.”
Motion seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
The GIS contract with Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments (NECCOG) was tabled until necessary updates are completed.
The contract with NECCOG for Human Resource and Veterans’ Advisory services was signed and annual fee was paid.
All reimbursements for the 2020 LoCIP Grant projects have been received.
The STEAP Grant for 2020 is now a reimbursement grant. The Auditors have been notified and the project invoices totaling $128,205.00 will be paid from the Capital Non-Recurring town account, to be reimbursed by the State.
The Town was awarded $62,300.50 in Town Aid Road (TAR) grant monies.
Motion to adjourn at 9:35 p.m. by Selectman Heck; seconded by Selectman Huda. Vote was unanimous.
