Selectmen’s Meeting                                       June 15, 2020                        Union, Connecticut

 

 

 First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the June 1, 2020 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

New Business:               

 

This was the last meeting for FY 2019-2020. The closeout of the FY 2019-2020 budget was discussed.

 

SNE Building Systems evaluated the Town Hall air handling system to maximize air flow. The Board approved the installation of 4 actuators to maintain the system, at a cost of approximately $2,500.00.

 

Following discussion of Phase 2 re-opening of the State, First Selectman Eaton made a motion to reopen the grove and pavilion for resident rental, with a caveat added to the application signed by the applicant agreeing to follow the current state pandemic guidelines, and with the limitation of 50 people or less. Motion seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

The Board reviewed the reopening protocols for the Town Hall.

 

The Town and Board of Education will be submitting the quarterly receipts to FEMA for refunding of COVID-19 expenses.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. by First Selectman Eaton; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
