Selectmen’s Meeting                                       June 1, 2020                        Union, Connecticut

 

 

 First Selectman Eaton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Attending:  Selectmen – David D. Eaton, David Heck, Mary Huda

 

Minutes from the May 18, 2020 meeting were read. Selectman Huda made a motion to accept the minutes as read; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.

 

Bills were presented for review.  Selectman Heck made the motion to pay the bills as presented, with the exception of the WEX Bank invoice for $587.67. The Town will pay WEX Bank $512.67, deducting the $75.00 finance charge. Motion seconded by Selectman Huda.  Vote was unanimous.

           

Correspondence:  Email requesting that a Representative from the Town of Union be appointed to the CT Tourism Board.

 

New Business:               

 

The reopening of the Town offices was officially scheduled for Tuesday, June 23.  The Assessor’s Office will open on June 24. A postcard announcement will be sent to Town residents.

 

The First Selectman will look at increasing fresh air circulation from HVAC for the Town offices.

 

Employee temperatures will be taken with the infrared contact-free thermometer, and must register a temperature of under 100.4°F.

 

The Town Budget for 2020-2021 was adopted by the Board of Finance on May 19, 2020; the mil rate is set at 28.99.

 

Motion to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. by Selectman Huda; seconded by Selectman Heck. Vote was unanimous.
